RBP immunoprecipitation
RNA-binding protein (RBP) immunoprecipitation is a laboratory technique used to identify and study proteins that interact with RNA molecules. Scientists use specific antibodies that recognize a particular RBP to "pull down" that protein from a cell extract. When the antibody binds the RBP, it also brings along any RNA molecules attached to it. Researchers then isolate and analyze these RNA-protein complexes to understand how RBPs regulate gene expression, RNA stability, or localization, providing insights into cellular processes and disease mechanisms.
