Razakars
Razakars were a paramilitary volunteer force formed in 1948 by the Nizam of Hyderabad to oppose the integration of Hyderabad into India. Comprising mostly local Muslims, they supported the Nizam's aim to retain independence or join Pakistan, resisting Indian government efforts. Known for their aggressive tactics and violence, Razakars played a significant role during Hyderabad's military action in 1948, which led to the region becoming part of India. After that, they were disbanded, and their leaders faced legal action. The history of Razakars reflects the complex political and communal conflicts during India's independence and partition period.
