Raymond Cattell (psychologist)

Raymond Cattell was a psychologist known for his work in understanding personality. He developed the theory that personality traits can be organized into patterns, and created statistical methods to identify them. Cattell identified two main types of traits: surface traits, which are observable behaviors, and source traits, the underlying qualities shaping those behaviors. His most significant contribution was the development of the 16 Personality Factors (16PF) questionnaire, a tool used to assess individual personality profiles. His research has helped improve psychological assessment, hiring processes, and understanding human behavior in various settings.
