Rastas

Rastas, short for Rastafarians, are members of a spiritual and cultural movement originating in Jamaica during the 1930s. They believe in the divine identity of Haile Selassie I, the former Ethiopian emperor, viewing him as a messianic figure. Rastas emphasize natural living, personal spiritual growth, and the rejection of materialism. They are known for their distinctive appearance, including dreadlocks—symbolic of a sacred connection to Africa—and the use of reggae music to promote peace, resistance, and unity. Their beliefs blend African heritage, Christianity, and Ethiopian traditions, aiming for social justice and spiritual enlightenment.
