Ransomware-as-a-Service (RaaS)

Ransomware-as-a-Service (RaaS) is a cybercriminal business model where malicious software, called ransomware, is sold or shared on underground platforms. Instead of creating ransomware themselves, operators provide ready-to-use tools to affiliates or hackers. These affiliates carry out attacks, encrypt victims' data, and demand ransom payments. The RaaS operator takes a share of the profits, making it easier for cybercriminals with limited technical skills to participate in cyberattacks. This model has increased the scale and frequency of ransomware attacks, making cybersecurity more challenging for organizations and individuals.
