ransomware-as-a-service

Ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) is a criminal business model where cybercriminals develop ransomware software and then offer it to others—a version of "software as a service." The providers handle the technical parts, and affiliates (users) execute attacks, often for a share of the profits. This setup makes ransomware more accessible and widespread, allowing even those with limited technical skills to launch attacks. Victims' data is encrypted, and they are demanded to pay a ransom for decryption; RaaS amplifies the scale and frequency of such attacks.
