Rank Choice Voting

Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) is a system where voters rank candidates in order of preference (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.) instead of choosing just one. If no candidate wins a majority initially, the candidate with the fewest votes is eliminated. Votes for the eliminated candidate are then redistributed to the voters' next choices. This process continues until a candidate has more than half the votes and is declared the winner. RCV aims to reflect voters’ preferences more accurately, reduce strategic voting, and ensure that the elected candidate has broader support.
