Ranging Techniques
Ranging techniques are methods used to determine the distance to an object or location. They work by measuring how long it takes for a signal—such as radio waves, sound, or light—to travel from the receiver to the target and back. For example, radar systems send out radio signals and time how long the reflections return, calculating distance from that delay. These techniques are essential in navigation, surveying, and communication systems to accurately locate objects or points in space. Different approaches, like Time of Flight, Doppler shifts, or triangulation, are chosen based on the environment and application.
