Randomized Control Trials (RCTs)
Randomized Control Trials (RCTs) are scientific studies used to test how well a new treatment or intervention works. Participants are randomly assigned to either a group receiving the treatment or a control group not receiving it. This random assignment helps ensure the groups are similar in all respects initially, so any differences in outcomes can be confidently attributed to the treatment itself. RCTs are considered the gold standard for determining cause-and-effect because they minimize bias and confounding factors, providing reliable evidence about the effectiveness and safety of new medical, social, or policy interventions.
