Randomised Controlled Trials

A randomized controlled trial (RCT) is a scientific study used to test the effectiveness of a new treatment or intervention. Participants are randomly assigned to either the group receiving the new treatment or a control group (which might get a placebo or standard treatment). This random assignment helps ensure that differences in outcomes are due to the treatment itself, rather than other factors. RCTs provide reliable evidence about whether a treatment works and are considered the gold standard in clinical research for establishing cause-and-effect relationships.
