Rance River
The Rance River, more accurately known as the Rance estuary, is a tidal inlet in Brittany, France, formed by the damming of the Rance River. This estuary connects the Rance River to the Atlantic Ocean, creating a unique environment with fluctuating water levels influenced by tides. Notably, the Rance tidal power station, located at the estuary, is one of the world's first and largest to generate electricity using tidal flow. The area supports diverse ecosystems, maritime activities, and tourism, making it an important natural and industrial resource in the region.
