Rajputana States

The Rajputana States were a group of princely states in present-day Rajasthan, India, historically ruled by Rajput kings known for their valor and warrior culture. Prior to British rule, these states operated independently with their own rulers, customs, and armies. During the British colonial period, they maintained a degree of autonomy but acknowledged British suzerainty. Post-independence, in 1949-1950, most of these states merged to form the modern state of Rajasthan. The Rajputana States are renowned for their rich heritage, forts, palaces, and contributions to Indian history and culture.
