Rajneeshpuram

Rajneeshpuram was a community established in the early 1980s in Oregon by followers of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh (later known as Osho). It was built around a spiritual commune aimed at practicing meditation and personal growth. The community grew rapidly, leading to conflicts with nearby residents and authorities, culminating in legal issues, including bio-terrorism and political manipulation scandals. After these controversies, the community disbanded in the late 1980s. Today, the site is a public park and a historic landmark, symbolizing both the pursuit of alternative lifestyles and the challenges that can arise from communal living and spiritual movements.
