Rajasinghe II

Rajasinghe II was a king of Sri Lanka's Kingdom of Kandy from 1798 to 1815. He was known for his efforts to defend his kingdom against British and Dutch colonial powers during a turbulent period. Despite his strong resistance, he faced numerous challenges including military invasions and internal conflicts. His reign ended with the British successfully taking control of Sri Lanka in 1815. Rajasinghe II is remembered as a brave and resilient leader who fought to preserve his kingdom's independence during a time of colonial expansion.
