Rainbow Warrior (ship)

The Rainbow Warrior was a ship operated by Greenpeace, an environmental organization focused on protecting the Earth. Launched in 1955 as a commercial vessel, it was acquired by Greenpeace in the 1970s to promote environmental activism. The ship was famous for campaigns against nuclear testing, whaling, and other environmental issues. In 1985, it was bombed by French agents in Auckland, New Zealand, in an attempt to stop Greenpeace’s protests. The attack resulted in the death of a photographer and heightened global awareness of environmental activism. The Rainbow Warrior remains a symbol of Greenpeace’s dedication to environmental causes.
