Radiological Dispersal Device
A Radiological Dispersal Device, often called a "dirty bomb," combines conventional explosives with radioactive material. When detonated, it disperses radioactive particles over a wide area, causing contamination, health risks, and fear. Unlike nuclear weapons, it doesn’t cause a nuclear explosion but spreads radioactive substances that can harm people, animals, and the environment through contamination. Its primary goal is to create panic, disruption, and harm through radiation exposure, rather than immediate mass destruction.
