Radio-frequency identification (RFID) systems
Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is a technology that uses radio waves to automatically identify and track objects, animals, or people. An RFID system consists of a small tag (or chip) attached to an item and a reader that emits radio signals. When the tag comes within range, it responds by sending back stored information, such as an ID number. This process allows for quick, contactless data collection without manual scanning. RFID is commonly used in inventory management, access control, and supply chain tracking, providing efficient, real-time identification and data retrieval.
