Radical Mastectomy

Radical mastectomy is a surgical procedure for breast cancer treatment that involves removing the entire breast tissue, including the breast itself, the underlying chest muscles (pec muscles), and nearby lymph nodes under the arm. The goal is to eliminate the cancer and reduce the chance of it returning. This extensive operation is typically used for more advanced or aggressive cancers. While it's more invasive than other breast surgeries, it aims to provide thorough removal of cancerous tissue, often combined with additional treatments like radiation or chemotherapy to improve outcomes.
