Radcliffe College (historically affiliated with Harvard University)

Radcliffe College was a women's college in Cambridge, Massachusetts, founded in 1879 as the women's coordinate institution for Harvard University. Originally established to provide women with higher education opportunities comparable to men's Harvard, Radcliffe operated independently while maintaining close academic ties with Harvard. In 1999, Radcliffe formally merged with Harvard University, becoming the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, which now serves as a hub for interdisciplinary research, scholarship, and public engagement, continuing its legacy of supporting women and fostering academic excellence.
