Racial Microaggressions
Racial microaggressions are subtle, often unintentional comments or actions that convey biases or stereotypes about someone's race. They can manifest as remarks, behaviors, or assumptions that, while seemingly minor, can reinforce discrimination and make individuals feel marginalized or undervalued. Examples include asking someone where they’re really from or assuming abilities based on race. Though they may be unintentional, microaggressions can accumulate over time, impacting well-being and fostering a biased environment. Recognizing and addressing microaggressions promotes awareness and helps create more inclusive, respectful spaces.
