Race equity
Race equity refers to creating fair opportunities and outcomes for people of all racial backgrounds by addressing and correcting historical and systemic inequalities. It involves recognizing that certain groups may face disadvantages due to past discrimination and working intentionally to remove these barriers. Unlike equality, which treats everyone the same, equity aims to provide tailored support so all individuals can succeed and participate fully in society. This approach fosters fairness and justice, ensuring that race does not determine a person’s chances in areas like education, employment, and housing.
