Race and Mixedness

Race is a social construct that categorizes people based on shared physical features, often linked to geographic ancestry, but it doesn't have a clear scientific basis. Mixedness refers to having a diverse ancestry, meaning a person’s background includes genes from different racial or ethnic groups. Both concepts highlight human diversity and are shaped by complex histories of migration and interbreeding. Recognizing this helps us understand that race is more about social identity than strict biological differences, and that many people have mixed heritage, reflecting our interconnected world.
