R visa (Talent Visa)

The R visa, often called a Talent Visa, allows religious workers and certain religious professionals to enter the U.S. temporarily to perform religious duties. It’s intended for individuals who are part of a recognized religious denomination and are coming to work for a church or related organization. The visa is usually granted for up to 30 months, with the possibility of extension. Applicants must demonstrate their religious qualifications, an offer of employment, and the organization's support. This visa facilitates the contribution of recognized religious talents to the U.S. religious community.
