R-CHOP (chemotherapy regimen)
R-CHOP is a common chemotherapy treatment for certain types of lymphoma. It combines five drugs: Rituximab (R), which targets cancer cells specifically; Cyclophosphamide (C), a powerful chemical that destroys rapidly dividing cells; Doxorubicin (H), which damages cancer cell DNA; Vincristine (O), that prevents cancer cells from dividing; and Prednisone (P), a steroid that helps reduce inflammation and cancer growth. Administered in cycles over several weeks, R-CHOP aims to eradicate cancer while supporting the patient's overall health, often leading to remission in many cases.
