R-CHOP

R-CHOP is a chemotherapy treatment combination used for certain types of lymphoma, a blood cancer. It includes five components: Rituximab (R), a targeted biological agent that attacks cancer cells; Cyclophosphamide (C), a chemotherapy drug that stops cancer cell growth; Doxorubicin (H, also called Hydroxydaunorubicin), which damages cancer cell DNA; Vincristine (O, or Oncovin), which inhibits cell division; and Prednisone (P), a steroid that reduces inflammation and helps kill cancer cells. Taken together in cycles, R-CHOP aims to destroy cancer while supporting the patient’s overall health.
