QWERTY Keyboard
The QWERTY keyboard is a standard layout for typing on computers and typewriters, named after the first six letters in its top-left row. Designed in the 1870s by Christopher Latham Sholes, it arranges letters to reduce jamming in mechanical typewriters by spacing out commonly used letter pairs. This layout balances typing efficiency with practicality, making it the most widely used keyboard format worldwide. Although alternative layouts exist, QWERTY remains popular due to familiarity and extensive standardization in education, technology, and office environments.
