Qumran Scrolls

The Qumran Scrolls are a collection of ancient Jewish texts discovered between 1947 and 1956 near the Dead Sea, inside caves. These manuscripts date from around 250 BCE to 50 CE and include copies of Hebrew Bible books, religious writings, and community rules. They are significant because they offer insights into Jewish life, religion, and scripture preparation before and during the time of Jesus. The scrolls help scholars understand the development of biblical texts and shed light on a mysterious Jewish community, possibly sectarians, who lived at Qumran.
