Quino, whose real name was Joaquín Salvador Lavado Tejón, was an Argentine cartoonist and the creator of Mafalda, a beloved comic strip that debuted in 1964. Mafalda, a precocious young girl, often expressed her views on society, politics, and human rights, resonating with readers worldwide. Quino's work combined humor with social commentary, addressing the challenges and absurdities of life, especially in Latin America. Over his career, he received numerous awards for his contributions to art and culture, making Mafalda an iconic figure and a symbol of youth and critical thinking. Quino passed away in September 2022.
