Quebec Legislature

The Quebec Legislature, called the National Assembly, is the law-making body of the province of Quebec. It consists of Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) who are elected by Quebec residents. The Assembly debates and votes on proposed laws (bills), approves the provincial budget, and oversees the government’s actions. It functions within a parliamentary system where the government is formed by the party or coalition that has the most MNAs. The Assembly works alongside the Premier, who leads the executive branch, making sure the province's laws and policies reflect the local population's needs and priorities.
