Quantum computing uses the principles of quantum mechanics to perform calculations. Unlike computers that use bits (0s or 1s), quantum computers use qubits, which can exist in multiple states simultaneously thanks to superposition. They also leverage entanglement, a property where particles become interconnected so that the state of one instantly influences another. These features allow quantum computers to process complex problems more efficiently than classical computers, especially in fields like cryptography, material science, and optimization. While still in development, quantum computing holds the potential to revolutionize technology by solving problems currently beyond reach.
