Quantum Algorithm
A quantum algorithm is a set of instructions designed to solve problems using the principles of quantum mechanics. Unlike traditional algorithms that process information in bits (0s or 1s), quantum algorithms use qubits, which can exist in multiple states simultaneously thanks to superposition. They also exploit entanglement, allowing qubits to be interconnected in ways that enable complex computations to be performed more efficiently. Quantum algorithms aim to solve specific problems faster or more effectively than classical ones, such as factoring large numbers, optimizing complex systems, or simulating molecules for drug development.
