Quantitative RT-PCR (qRT-PCR)

Quantitative RT-PCR (qRT-PCR) is a sensitive laboratory technique used to measure the amount of specific RNA molecules in a sample. It first converts RNA into DNA (known as reverse transcription), then amplifies this DNA through a process called polymerase chain reaction (PCR). During amplification, fluorescent dyes are used to detect the DNA in real-time, allowing scientists to quantify the original RNA levels. This method is widely used to study gene expression, diagnose diseases, and understand biological processes by providing precise measurements of specific RNA targets efficiently and accurately.
