Quality payment programs

Quality Payment Program (QPP) is a system used by Medicare to encourage healthcare providers to deliver high-quality, efficient care. It offers two main paths: the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), which rewards providers based on performance metrics, and Advanced Alternative Payment Models (APMs), which provide incentives for participating in innovative care arrangements. Essentially, QPP aims to improve patient outcomes and value of care while financially rewarding providers who meet or exceed certain quality standards, promoting better health services for Medicare beneficiaries.
