Qualified Opportunity Fund

A Qualified Opportunity Fund (QOF) is an investment vehicle created to encourage investment in communities that need economic revitalization. Investors put money into a QOF, which then invests in designated low-income areas called Opportunity Zones. The goal is to stimulate development, create jobs, and improve neighborhoods. In return, investors can benefit from tax advantages, such as deferring or reducing capital gains taxes if they keep the investment for certain periods. Essentially, QOFs align investment with community development, offering both financial incentives for investors and growth potential for underserved areas.
