Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency (QCDA)

The Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency (QCDA) was a UK government organization responsible for developing and maintaining national curriculum standards and qualifications for schools and colleges. Its role included creating exam frameworks, assessment policies, and ensuring that educational content met national standards to prepare students effectively for further education and employment. The QCDA aimed to ensure consistency, quality, and fairness in qualifications across England, working collaboratively with educators and regulators. Note that the QCDA was absorbed into separate organizations in 2011, and the responsibilities are now managed by other bodies such as Ofqual and the Department for Education.
