Quadruple therapy
Quadruple therapy is a medical treatment used to eliminate a bacterial infection, often for conditions like stomach ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori. It involves taking four different medications simultaneously: two antibiotics to kill the bacteria, a proton pump inhibitor to reduce stomach acid, and a bismuth-containing medicine to protect the stomach lining and enhance antibiotic effectiveness. This combination improves the chance of successfully eradicating the infection and preventing its return. The treatment typically lasts 10–14 days and requires adherence to the prescribed regimen for optimal results.
