Qatari leadership

Qatar’s leadership is primarily centered around the Emir, who holds the highest authority, overseeing government, military, and societal matters. The Emir is advised by a government council and a cabinet, which manages day-to-day affairs and implements policies. Qatar’s political system combines traditional monarchy with evolving institutions, and while there is some consultative process, ultimate decision-making rests with the Emir. The leadership aims to maintain stability, promote economic growth, and enhance international relations, particularly through mediating regional issues and diversifying the economy beyond oil and gas.
