Qaraqosh

Qaraqosh, also known as Baghdida, is a historic town in northern Iraq predominantly inhabited by Iraqi Christians, mainly of the Chaldean Catholic community. Located in the Nineveh Plain, it has a rich cultural and religious heritage dating back centuries. The town was affected by conflicts involving ISIS in 2014, leading to displacement and destruction. Since then, efforts have been underway to rebuild and restore Qaraqosh, symbolizing resilience and the importance of preserving minority communities and their traditions in the region.
