Pyramid of Quetzalcoatl

The Pyramid of Quetzalcoatl, also known as the Pyramid of Kukulkán, is a step pyramid at the ancient Mayan city of Chichen Itza in Mexico. It was built between the 9th and 12th centuries and dedicated to the serpent deity Quetzalcoatl (Kukulkán in Mayan). The pyramid features 91 steps on each side, totaling 365 steps when including the top platform, representing the days of the solar year. During the equinoxes, the angle of the setting sun creates a shadow that looks like a serpent descending the staircase, symbolizing the deity's return.
