Pyloromyotomy

Pyloromyotomy is a surgical procedure used to treat pyloric stenosis, a condition where the muscle at the stomach's outlet (pylorus) becomes abnormally thick, blocking food from passing into the small intestine. During the procedure, a surgeon makes an incision in the tight muscle to widen the passage, allowing food and liquids to flow normally. This minimally invasive surgery helps resolve symptoms like vomiting and dehydration, enabling the baby or patient to feed and grow properly. Pyloromyotomy is typically safe with a quick recovery time, providing long-term relief from the obstruction.
