Pupil reflex

The pupil reflex is the eye's automatic response to changes in light. When bright light shines into the eye, the pupils (the black centers) automatically contract (shrink) to limit the amount of light entering, protecting the retina. In dim lighting, pupils dilate (widen) to allow more light in for better vision. This reflex helps maintain optimal eye conditions for seeing clearly and protects the eye from potential damage caused by excessive light. The reflex involves communication between the eye and the brain through nerves, ensuring rapid adjustments without conscious effort.
