Punnett Square method
A Punnett Square is a tool used to predict the possible genetic combinations of offspring from two parents. It involves placing each parent's genetic contributions, called alleles, on the top and side of a grid. By filling in the squares with the relevant alleles, you can see all potential gene combinations for their child. This helps estimate the likelihood of certain traits, such as eye color or inherited conditions, appearing in the next generation. Essentially, it’s a visual way to understand how genes from both parents can mix to shape a child's characteristics.
