Punjab Legislature

The Punjab Legislature is the law-making body of the Indian state of Punjab. It consists of two houses: the Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) and the Vidhan Parishad (Legislative Council). The Vidhan Sabha has elected representatives who propose and debate laws, while the Vidhan Parishad has members appointed by various means, providing review and counsel. Together, they discuss state issues, formulate policies, and pass legislation. The Chief Minister, elected from the majority party in the Vidhan Sabha, leads the government, and the Governor represents the state at the national level, overseeing legislative activities.
