Punjab Boundary Force
The Punjab Boundary Force was a military unit established in 1947, during India’s partition, to maintain peace along the newly drawn border between India and Pakistan in the Punjab region. Its primary task was to prevent conflicts and manage any violence or unrest between communities on either side of the border. Comprising soldiers from the British Indian Army, the force aimed to ensure a smooth and secure transition during the chaotic partition period, helping to control violence and facilitate the movement of refugees and civilians across the border.
