Pueblo Languages
Pueblo languages are a group of indigenous languages spoken by the Pueblo peoples of the southwestern United States, primarily in areas like New Mexico and Arizona. These languages belong to the Keresan, Tanoan, and Zuni language families, among others. Each Pueblo community tends to have its own distinct language or dialect, reflecting their unique cultural identities. Despite influences from English and other languages, efforts are ongoing to preserve and revitalize Pueblo languages, which are vital for maintaining cultural traditions, oral histories, and community heritage. They are an essential part of the Pueblo peoples' cultural and linguistic diversity.
