Publicity and propaganda
Publicity involves gaining public attention and interest through various means, often to promote a person, product, or idea, typically perceived as factual or neutral. Propaganda, on the other hand, is a deliberate attempt to influence opinions and beliefs using persuasive, sometimes biased, information to serve a specific agenda. While publicity aims for widespread awareness, propaganda seeks to shape perceptions and behaviors, often employing emotional appeals or selective facts. Both are tools of communication, but propaganda can be more manipulative, whereas publicity generally relies on genuine interest and awareness.
