Psychosocial Safety Climate
Psychosocial Safety Climate (PSC) refers to an organization’s overall environment and policies that prioritize mental health, well-being, and respectful interpersonal interactions at work. It reflects how much management values employee psychological safety, supports open communication, and addresses stressors proactively. A positive PSC encourages a healthy workplace where employees feel supported, engaged, and able to perform their best without fear of harm or undue stress. Conversely, a poor PSC can contribute to stress, burnout, and mental health issues. Essentially, PSC is about creating a work culture that promotes psychological wellness alongside physical safety.
