PSP (pumped storage plant)

A pumped storage plant is a type of energy system that helps balance electricity supply and demand. It works like a giant rechargeable battery: during periods of low demand or excess electricity (like from renewable sources), it uses that electricity to pump water from a lower reservoir to a higher one. When energy demand increases, the stored water is released downhill, flowing through turbines to generate electricity quickly. This process provides reliable backup power, stabilizes the grid, and improves overall energy efficiency by storing surplus energy for later use.
