Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI)

The Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) is a clinical tool used to measure the severity and extent of psoriasis, a chronic skin condition. It evaluates areas of the body affected by psoriasis and assesses three key features: redness, thickness, and scaling of the skin. Each body region is scored based on these factors and the percentage of skin affected. The scores are then combined into a single number, ranging from 0 (no psoriasis) to 72 (most severe). PASI helps doctors monitor disease progression and evaluate the effectiveness of treatments objectively.
