Pseudoliparis swirei

Pseudoliparis swirei, commonly known as the Mariana snailfish, is a deep-sea fish found in the Mariana Trench, the deepest part of the ocean. It lives at extreme depths, over 26,000 feet underwater, where pressure is immense and sunlight doesn't reach. Despite these harsh conditions, it has adapted to survive in near-freezing temperatures and high pressure. The Mariana snailfish has a soft, elongated body and lacks scales, allowing it to move efficiently in its high-pressure environment. Its discovery helps scientists understand how life can exist in some of Earth's most extreme habitats.
